Have you always wanted to learn how to ride since you were young? Has it always been a dream to be a skilled rider and have a fun relationship with horses? Then look no further then Classical Horsemanship!

Classical Horsemanship may sound like an intimidating name but one of our specialties is beginner adults. We love fulfilling childhood dreams of learning how to ride for beginner adults.

Just Getting Started?

  • At Classical Horsemanship safety is of the utmost importance in our teaching. Here are some of the key ways we focus on safety:

    • Learning a good seat is a cornerstone to our teaching

    • Riders are started on the longeline so they learn to harmonize with the horse before having to control the horse independently

    • Teaching safe handling practices that start the moment you go to get the horse

    • Educating riders on how to build a good relationship with any horse

    • Building trust and confidence by giving riders tools for working with horses

  • We have more then seven different school horses for beginners to learn on. To learn more about our school horses check out our Meet Your Equine Teachers page.

  • Sadly the default setting most people use to handle horses is fear and aggression. At Classical Horsemanship our philosophy is in finding harmony and partnership with the horse. Starting with us as a beginner means you learn how to ride the right way from the beginning.

  • It is never too late to learn how to ride at a high level. Anyone can become a high level rider with mindfulness, practice and patients. Good instruction is key too!

A good riding instructor acts as a translator between the horse and human, that allows the rider to find good communication with the horse.

  • We have three qualified and knowledgeable instructors at Classical Horsemanship. All instructors have been personally trained by head instructor Megan Sorentino and continue their learning every day.

“I’ve been working with Megan since summer of 2018. I enjoy learning from her and I love the way she teaches! She has found a way to make me laugh at myself when things don’t go as planned. I highly recommend her!”
